Phisch's BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 shallot (finely diced)
    • subst: red onions
  • 1 clove garlic (finely diced)
  • 1 inch ginger (finely diced)
  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1½ tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1½ tbsp. apple cider vinegar
    • subst: red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp worchestorshire sauce
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • black pepper
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Add shallots, garlic, ginger, sunflower oil, and chili flakes to pan on medium heat. Cook until onions turn translucent.
  2. Add brown sugar. Cook until sugar melts.
  3. Add smoked paprika. Quickly mix into paste.
  4. Deglaze with Apple Cider Vinegar.
  5. Add Tomato Ketchup, Worchestorshire sauce, Dark Soy Sauce, black pepper, and salt.
